Financial literacy requirement bill graduates Legislature
Legislation requiring high school students to take a financial literacy and management class was approved by the House Tuesday.
SB 1054, sponsored by Sen. Travis Hutson and Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera, passed with unanimous bipartisan support. The outcome was expected, as the bill passed the Senate unanimously. It had 35 co-sponsors from both parties.
Florida House approves creating climate change resiliency office
The Florida House almost unanimously passed a proposal Wednesday to bolster efforts against sea-level rise.
The bill (HB 7053), sponsored by Rep. Demi Busatta Cabrera, R-Coral Gables, would establish a new resiliency office directly under Gov. Ron DeSantis.
